Pet Health in Summer

Summer can be a challenging time for pets, with the heat posing several health risks for them.
To ensure your furry friends stay safe and healthy during these hot months requires extra attention and care.

Hydration is essential. Always provide fresh, cool water for your pets and ensure they have access to shade throughout the day. Pets can quickly become dehydrated, so keep their water bowls filled and, if possible, add ice cubes for extra cooling.
If you are a working mom or dad of a fur baby you can get automatic feeders and water fountains appropriate for your precious fur babies.
Heatstroke is a significant concern. Avoid exercising your pets during peak heat hours; instead, opt for early morning or late evening walks. Never leave pets in parked cars, as temperatures can rise rapidly, leading to life-threatening conditions.

Protect their paws from hot surfaces like asphalt or concrete surface or sand, which can burn sensitive pads. Consider walking them on grass or using protective booties.

Proper grooming helps regulate body temperature, but be cautious with trimming fur. Some breeds use their coats to keep cool. Regular brushing can help remove excess fur and reduce the risk of heat-related issues.

Finally, be mindful of parasites such as ticks and fleas, which are more prevalent in summer. Regular vet check-ups and preventive treatments are crucial to keeping these pests at bay.
Keep their favorite spot in home cool and litter box area clean and cool.
Keep yourself and your loved ones safe and healthy this summer. Oh yes! And don’t forget to have a lot of fun with your fur babies!!
