Several farmer unions have declared a protest march to show solidarity with CISF Constable Kulvinder Kaur, who reportedly slapped BJP MP-elect Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh Airport on Thursday, as per PTI. The demonstration, known as the “Insaaf March,” is scheduled to occur in Mohali, Punjab, on June 9. The farmers have insisted on fair investigations into the matter and have urged against any unjust repercussions for Kaur.
Jagjit Singh Dallewal, speaking at a press briefing, announced, “Our primary objective is to call for a thorough investigation and guarantee fairness for the female constable.” He mentioned that the protest at the Senior Superintendent of Police’s office in Mohali would emphasize these requests.
Music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani reacted to the incident by posting on his Instagram Stories. He expressed his understanding of Kaur’s actions, despite not condoning violence. Dadlani stated, “I do not ever support violence, but I absolutely understand the need of this @official_cisf personnel’s anger. If any action is taken against her by the CISF, I will ensure that she has a job waiting for her should she choose to accept it. Jai Hind. Jai Jawaan. Jai Kisaan.”
According to the PTI report, Karu’s brother, Sher Singh, who serves as a farmer leader and holds the position of organization secretary at the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, is actively engaged in coordinating the protest arrangements.
Airport security official Kulvinder Kaur faced suspension and legal action after reportedly slapping Bollywood actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. The incident took place on Thursday as Ranaut awaited her flight to Delhi. Kaur accused Ranaut of showing contempt towards farmers.
Subsequent to the altercation, Kaur, a CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) Constable, was suspended, and an investigation was launched. Kaur adopted a resolute stance on social media, expressing on X, “I am unafraid of losing this position… I am willing to forfeit thousands of such roles for the honor of my mother.”
